Greetings
Korea's premier specialized structural testing center equipped with internationally scaled facilities and state-of-the-art experimental equipment
The Hybrid Structural Testing Center(Hystec), completed on April 15, 2009, with support from the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, the Korea Institute of Construction Technology, and Myongji University, is a large-scale structural experiment center equipped with world-class experimental facilities and equipment, and is a KOLAS-certified testing institution.
The facility is capable of conducting full-scale structural experiments, including full-scale testing of bridge girders up to 80m in length, building structures up to 12m in height, and compression tests of up to 20,000kN. In addition to static and pseudo-dynamic tests, the center has established a large-capacity hydraulic loading system, control system, and infrastructure to implement real-time hybrid experiment techniques that allow for simultaneous testing and analysis.
We will strive to ensure that this world-class facility contributes significantly to the advancement of Korea's construction technology by utilizing it for the technological development of researchers and construction engineers, experimental education for students in related majors, and retraining of field practitioners. Furthermore, we will establish a system to carry out international experimental projects through cooperation with large-scale experimental centers abroad. Finally, I ask for your interest and active participation so that the excellent experimental facilities of this center can faithfully fulfill their role as a construction technology infrastructure for our country.
Kwon, Seung Hee
Director of the Hybrid Structure Experiment Center at Myongji University
